SolidWorks Designer/ Drafter

Job Summary

Position calls for designer working primarily with SolidWorks. Work experience to include 3-D design of mechanical systems utilizing sheet metal parts. Applicant should be able to design, detail, and change existing documents, working closely with engineers. In addition to his/her design responsibility, the potential candidate should be able to produce layouts, bills of materials, and routings as well as detailed manufacturing drawings. The applicant must be able to work independently and communicate well with the assigned engineer. Organization and accuracy are a must.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate detailed working drawings
  • Prepare bills of materials and routings
  • Interpret engineers' and plant sketches, written instructions and/or verbal instructions to produce models, assemblies and detailed drawings
  • Work with ERP system to create product specifications
  • Perform all work in accordance with established Revcor standards and practices using the equipment and software programs furnished

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of technical training, including math courses in geometry and trigonometry
  • As associate's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent would be preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of 3D CAD design experience using SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD would be a plus
  • Experience working with sheet metal, ventilation or air handling equipment, and/or structural steel is highly preferable
  • High energy level and comfortable performing multi-faceted tasks in conjunction with routine activities

Personal Characteristics

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Must have a desire to want to learn and take ownership of projects
  • Well organized and a team player, gets¬†along well with diverse personalities
  • Good communication skills
